Funny you should ask. It seems I’ve been dis-assembling and re-assembling, building and re-building, and just fixing stuff since I was a kid. When I was 11 years old, I took several 4-H classes on electricity. Years later, I would wire-up my own workshop in the basement of my parents home. In junior college, I needed one hour credit to finish out my degree so I signed up for a carburetors class. I can’t recall how many I’ve rebuilt since. Our first house we bought was built quickly without regard to quality. So I spent the next 20 years learning the fine art of home repair. I love old cars and now it’s almost impossible to find any old-school shops to do the work. Everyone has retired.
Now there’s stuff I can’t do–a lot of stuff. I don’t mind paying for that. But If I think I can save a few dollars, improve how something works, of just consider it a challenge, then I’ll give it a shot.
This site will attempt to document such projects. The boat and the car sites will still cover those projects and there might be some cross over. It may take a while to figure out whats’ what.
What I’ll try NOT to post are projects like “How to hang a door” or “Fix a screen”. There are a thousand Youtube channels and a million how-to websites that have done just that. I’ll stay in my lane for more unusual projects while keeping all my fingers and toes.
